Coverage & Insurance
Medical cannabis coverage in Canada is possible through several pathways. We help you discover and optimize your options.
Coverage Pathways
Coverage for medical cannabis is not standardized like typical prescription drugs. Different payers have different rules, documentation requirements, and approval processes. Our coverage engine helps identify which pathways apply to you.
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)
VAC may cover medical cannabis for eligible veterans. Coverage typically requires a medical document and approval through VAC processes. We help veterans navigate requirements and documentation.
Employer & Union Benefits
Some employer and union health plans cover medical cannabis. Coverage varies widely - some plans include it by default, others require an exception or prior authorization. We help identify your options and support exception requests.
Workers Compensation
Provincial workers compensation boards (e.g. WorkSafeBC, WSIB Ontario) may cover medical cannabis for work-related injuries when supported by clinical evidence. Province-specific rules apply.
Disability Benefits
CPP-D, provincial disability programs, and some private disability plans may cover medical cannabis in certain circumstances. Documentation and prior approval are usually required.

Exception Requests & Appeals
If your plan doesn't explicitly cover medical cannabis, you may be able to submit an exception request. Plans that have denied coverage in the past may reconsider with additional documentation or appeal. We support members through these processes.
